In a family full of Girls, along came the first son for both sides of our family… This theme was super fun to create and was done for my brother and sister-in-law. Each item was custom created just for them including the décor and the games.
Here is some background: My brother and SIL live in the UK, They had planned a trip to SA and then, SURPRISE, they’re pregnant and…. Their baby was due a month after their planned trip, which of course, made perfect timing for us! We could throw a baby shower for them during their visit AND spoil the first Son in both our family and my sister in laws.
The first order of the day was to create the save the dates followed by the invitation. This special couple also requested a book for baby instead of a card. All of these were done as digital invites that they sent via WhatsApp.

Aside from the digital designs we also created this beautiful welcome sign which was placed at the entrance of my in-laws home.
For the actual party we designed and printed the games/activities for the baby shower guests to take part in and enjoy some laughs (the content came from my brother and SIL) I printed these and I couldn’t figure some of them out (haha)
All of the games were printed A5 on bond paper.
Another A3 correx board was designed and printed for guests to have their guess as to when the baby would arrive. We supplied the permanent markers so guests could write their name on the date they suspect the Son would make his grand arrival.
Eat the Cake…
Not only was the cake beautiful but super delicious and get this… made by my incredibly talented Mom using a family recipe.
I then created the cake topper using an A5 acrylic arch and some vinyl in the colours suited to the theme.
I had so much fun creating all of the above aspects for this very special baby shower! It was definitely a day the Mom and Dad-to-be could remember, and best of all, they got to celebrate it with their nearest and dearest in “Sonny” South Africa.
